The Bad Batch will be at least 14 episodes long. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will debut on Disney+ May 4th with a 70-minutre premiere. After that we know Episode 2 will hit on Friday 7th of May and little else. So far we have been given no indication of how many episodes is in The Bad Batch. However, we now know there is least 14, and probably more. The Bad Batch composer Kevin Kiner recently appeared on The Sith Podcast and spoke a little about his work. He mentioned tat he had just finished scoring Episode 14. This episode Kiner describes as being set in a jungle, and he also talked about the percussion used.

Of course, this tells us one thing for definite and gives us a clue to another. There are at least 14 episodes in The Bad Batch, but likely more. The way Kiner spoke about Episode 14 did not make it feel like the finale. So we could be looking at anything from 15 – 25 episodes, we just don’t know? As we both said, this means that The Bad Batch will definitely cross into the airing dates of Loki. This also means that eventually we will have a situation where The Bad Batch and Loki are both debuting new episodes on a Friday.

I’m not sure this makes the best marketing sense. After all, we here at LRM are likely not going to be covering The Bad Batch every Friday or Monday because we will have to choose between that and Loki. I fail to see why it does not make more sense to just keep The Bad Batch airing on a Tuesday? I guess Disney probably understand that one it starts Loki is going to be talked about more than The Bad Batch for the simple live-action versus animated conflict. But surely this could begin to cause problems a year from now when there are far more Star Wars and MCU shows competing for time slots. Not to mention other Disney+ originals outside of those two biggest IP’s.
