The official The Batman logo is here!

Yesterday, there were plenty of reports around the internet focusing on the new Bat symbol. Each Batman film franchise has had some sort of play on a bat. More recently, Zack Snyder’s take was the Frank Miller-esque fat bat logo. So, with Robert Pattinson taking on the cowl in The Batman, we knew we’d be getting an all-new logo. But not just a new Bat symbol, but a logo for the actual film The Batman.

Well, with the DC FanDome event coming down the pipe this coming Saturday, there’s all sorts of fun goodies being revealed. Among those is a post from director Matt Reeves himself. He not only shared a piece of key art from Jim Lee showing off Pattinson’s Batman atop a gargoyle, but an official logo for The Batman.

“Excited to share the very first look at our official #TheBatman logo,” Reeves wrote, “and some very cool additional #DCFanDome artwork by the amazing @jimlee — see more of #TheBatman at the  #DCFanDome global event in the Hall of Heroes this Saturday, 8/22!  #TheBatman #DCFanDome #ForTheFans.”

I have to say, the Jim Lee image looks pretty slick, and it does get me excited for what we’ll be seeing in the days to come. The actual logo for The Batman is…fine. I love how it incorporates the new bat design, but apart from then, it’s just a generic gritty logo.

What I really think is interesting is that this is a full-on confirmation that The Batman is what the film will be titled. We’ve all talked about is as such for years. Even way back when Affleck was first rumored to direct a standalone Batman film, we heard it was called The Batman. I just think it’s funny how that name has stuck after all these years.
