The Batman: Frontrunners Emerge For Matt Reeves’ Film

Sounds like they are closing in on the Caped Crusader over at Warner Bros. Earlier this evening, Variety reported that the studio was in the final stages of locking down Robert Pattinson for the role in Matt Reeves’ upcoming standalone movie The Batman. The actor is perhaps best known for his role in Twilight and Harry Potter, but has since dedicated himself to more indie fare in recent years.

However, a new report from Deadline has stated that the battle for the cowl has not yet ended, and that we have another contender in Nicholas Hoult. Hoult has been a mainstay in the later X-Men films as Beast and has most recently portrayed Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien in the film Tolkien.

The outlet states the studio is still in the process of deciding who will be taking on the role of Batman following Ben Affleck’s departure from the role.
