An interesting piece of Barside Buzz today says that The Batman Part II may well feature Robin, also that DC are excited by the script. It was announced just this week by WB boss David Zaslav that The Batman Part II will go into production next Spring for its release in October of 2027.
Now Jeff Sneider claims to have gotten some information on the long awaited script in his latest The InSneider newsletter. The scooper says his source told him that the script was ‘worth the wait’ and really a ‘big swing’, where writers Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin are ‘really going for it’.
However, as per the title, this source also told Jeff that Robin is in the script. Now as we all know, there’s been no Robin since the abysmal Batman & Robin. Unless you count JGL in TDKR, which you shouldn’t.
[UPDATE: James Gunn has come out on social media to call this rumor nonsense saying that only 6 people have read the script for The Batman Part II.
However, weirdly Jeff has doubled down and surprisingly been backed up by ViewerAnon. Both seeming to suggest Gunn has been careful with his words here and that Robin is in the film.]
Sounds like another non-denial denial from Jimbo. Why not just say, "Robin isn't in the script." Seems simple, right? I know why he isn't saying that… https://t.co/lIso6F7VGq

Gunn doesn't deny Robin is in The Batman Part II, he says that very few people have actually read the script. He's always very particular with his wording and what he actually says is incorrect. https://t.co/9bTMhi8101

Original Story Below
We are pretty confident that the idea for Batman: The Brave and the Bold is to have Damian Wayne play Robin in the upcoming DCU film. Therefore, I’m guessing The Batman Part II also having a Robin will not have been on many fans bingo cards.

I’ll also add this caveat. I think Jeff is a reliable insider, his record on Star Wars is impeccable and he’s decent with Marvel. However, I do know DC fans don’t rate him as highly within that franchise. I make no comment myself, but if I didn’t think Jeff was a good source, I wouldn’t be covering it.
The general vibe Sneider got from this source was that after a long wait, those in DC Studios are very happy with the script for The Batman Part II. The film is set to begin casting soon. At that point we may get confirmation of a Robin character fairly quickly. Especially if it’s an under 18 actor.
What do you think of this rumor of Robin featuring in The Batman Part II? Thoughts below.
