The Best Man | Nicky Whelan on Playing the Damsel in Distress for Once

Nicky Whelan in The Best Whelan

After many films playing the heroine, Nicky Whelan breathed a sigh of relief to play the damsel in distress in the action film The Best Man.

In this shoot-em-up style film, a group of ex-military friends must battle their way into a hotel casino after the takeover by terrorists.

The film stars Brendan Fehr, Nicky Whelan, Scout Taylor-Compton, Scott Martin with Dolph Lundgren, and Luke Wilson. Shane Dax Taylor directed the film from the original story by Daniel Zirilli and the screenplay by C. Alex Rossel and Taylor.

Here is the official synopsis:

Luke Wilson (3:10 to Yuma) and Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables) star in this pulse-pounding, action-packed thriller. When a team of ruthless mercenaries violently seize control of a remote resort hotel, former Special Ops soldiers attending their best friend’s wedding must rely only on their wits and training to combat the terrorists and save the hostages held for ransom.
