THE BOY FROM MEDELLÍN follows J Balvin as he prepares for the most important concert of his career–a sold-out stadium show in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia. But as the performance draws ever closer, the streets explode with growing political unrest, forcing the Latin Grammy-winning musician to wrestle with his responsibility as an artist to his country and his legions of fans around the globe. As the public pressure of the approaching concert heightens, behind the scenes Balvin also continues to deal with the anxiety and depression that has plagued him for years. The Prince of Reggaeton is one the best Latin music artists worldwide that has been recognized internationally. José Álvaro Osorio Balvin started his career as an artist in Medellin urban clubs upon returning from a short stay in the US. His break out was in 2014 with his single Ginza and 6AM. For the short time he already has a long repertoire and has worked with International artists like Pharrell Williams, Cardi B. Pitbull, The Black Eyed Peas, Beyoncé and many more.
The multiple Grammy winner’s music is an international language to his fans worldwide. His songs have accumulated over 40 billion global streams. In addition, to his social media popularity with over 46.8M followers on Instagram alone.
