The Boys might well be my favorite new show this year. I was a little late starting it because I was in the middle of watching other things when it released, and everyone was talking about how good it was. Once I started it, I was hooked like all my friends. It’s really genius in this current trend of Superhero movies being so popular, to take the genre and turn it on its head as they did.
It was, as far as we can tell, insanely popular on Amazon Prime, so it’s clear to see why Season 2 has been progressing so rapidly. Well, we can now share that Season 2 has officially wrapped production and that it is expected to hit Amazon sometime in mid-2020. Check out the Instagram post from lead start Karl Urban below.

We have already had a small teaser for Season 2, not giving us much more than a little background on the Homelander character. Season 1 clearly leaves things on a major cliff-hanger as Billy Butcher finds his ex-wife and her child, the child of Homelander, at the same time as Homelander himself. You can catch the little teaser above, just bear in mind it has definite spoilers for Season 1 if you haven’t watched it yet. If you haven’t watched it yet, what are you doing, get on that hype train?
We have no idea where Season 2 is going to go other than logically looking at where things were left at the end of Season 1. Can Billy, Hughie, and the rest convince Annie to join them in taking down Vought and the Seven? Will things change for Billy now he knows his wife has a super-powered son? Is Homelander’s son the only person who can feasibly stand up to his own father, the most powerful of all the supers? I guess we will find out more sometime next year.
