The Cathedral | Ricky D’Ambrose Sundance Interview [Exclusive]

The Cathedral directed by Ricky D'Ambrose

For director and writer Ricky D’Ambrose, The Cathedral mirrors his perspective growing up in the past couple of decades.

The film stars Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) and Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight) as a couple striving to live over the years finding their American dream with their ups and downs of family life. Ricky D’Ambrose directed and wrote the film.

Here is the Sundance description of the film:

An unseen narrator unfolds the constellation of familial relationships of Jesse Damrosh, born in 1987, chronicling the dissolution of his parent’s marriage and the feuds, money concerns, and deaths that define a typical middle-class American existence. Yet in this impressionistic account of one life, what penetrates the most are not events but incidents. The beautiful yet quotidian moments of the should-padded jacket of an aunt, the certain print of a rug, an ad for a Kodak film, or the light in a room one afternoon from years before.
