Director James Wan has just revealed, via his Instagram account, that the sequel to his 2013 horror hit The Conjuring has begun filming. The original film was that rare horror movie that achieved both financial succes and critical acclaim. With a Certified Fresh 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and a worldwide haul of $318,000,141 on a budget of only $20 million, The Conjuring was a stellar success story for Warner Bros. It’s no surprise that the studio would go on to offer Wan the director’s chair for their DC tentpole Aquaman.
Here’s Wan’s post from the spooky set of The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist:

The film is set for a June 10, 2016 release. It’ll once again find Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as as real-life paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren, as they look into another supernatural disturbance- this time in England.
