The Cosmic Treadmill Was Used In BvS According to Director Zack Snyder

We are just about two years since the release of Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since then Warner Bros. has been all over the place with their films doing what they can do try and make sense of their superhero universe. Snyder left the Justice League mid-film which was taken over by Joss Whedon and since then he has been sharing quite a few details about what was his vision for the DCEU.

One of the latest details he has shared via his Vero account which we have obtained via CBR, Snyder confirmed the theory that during the Knightmare scene, Barry Allen aka The Flash used the iconic Cosmic Treadmill to travel back in time to warm Bruce Wayne about the future. In his post Snyder says that:
“…Bruce knows it’s dangerous to occupy the old bat cave it has to do with time travel from one point to another ie Flash travels from Cave in the future to Cave in the past But he is ‘too soon’ meaning he went to far back also meaning he will have to step off the ‘cosmic treadmill’ one more time.”

The Cosmic Treadmill is very well known as it has been featured in not only comics, but animated and live action television shows. It is a piece of technology that has been used many times for heroes like The Flash to travel through time. The device first made it’s appearance in comics in DC Comics’ The Flash #125 in December of 1961, written by John Broome and artwork by Carmine Infantino.

We will never know exactly what Snyder’s DCEU would have looked like if he was able to move forward. But it has been very interesting to find out all the little details that he had included in the film probably setting up the other films. What do you think of this latest detail?
