During the latest Arrowverse crossover event titled Elseworlds on The CW that had some of our favorite superheroes travel to Gotham City for the first time, we had the opportunity to get our first look at Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane aka Batwoman, who would soon have a pilot episode made for series consideration. It had been rumored that the series was a lock to get picked up and today we got the official word.

Via Variety we learned that Batwoman has been ordered for the 2019-2020 season along with other series Katy Keene and Nancy Drew. Batwoman will follow Kate Kane, who has a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind. She will protect the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, as Batman left the city and has gone missing.
With the announcement of the series going from pilot to series, The CW released their first teaser for the series featuring Batwoman perched on a rooftop in a classic Batmanesque manor. Followed by what could be the series version of the bat symbol. You can check it out below!

Caroline Dries is a writer for the series as well as an executive producer along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and David Nutter. The pilot episode was directed by Marcos Siega and also an executive producer. Batwoman is being produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Currently starring in the series alongside Rose as Kate Kane, is Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton.
