The DCU Batman Will Be Played By A New Actor Confirms James Gunn

we now have confirmation from James Gunn that the DCU Batman will be played by a new actor.

After some pretty outlandish rumors last week we now have confirmation from James Gunn that the DCU Batman will be played by a new actor. Last week some rumors began, which frankly should not have even been entertained as far as I am concerned. That’s why we didn’t share them last week. There was a claim that the DCU Batman going forward would be one of three previous actors. Those named were Christian Bale, George Clooney, and if you can believe it, Val Kilmer.

Now, I don’t need to explain why Kilmer is an idiotic guess. Unless you are unaware that the actor is very ill these days and cannot even speak properly, hence his small moment in Top Gun: Maverick being like it was. It’s also the reason that Kilmer’s voice cameo in Willow had to be dubbed by his son. I’m not for one moment saying none of these characters could show up as cameos in The Flash, given the multiversal goings on there and the fact we know Keaton is back. However that was not the claim.

Since that initial claim some people claiming to be insiders then starting jumping on the George Clooney bandwagon. The first tweet from Gunn in the chain below was him debunking the Clooney story. However, as said up top, James Gunn then came out and confirmed that the the DCU Batman will be a new actor.

That should that then? And If you want to very quickly define the credibility of some ‘scoopers’ simply have a look at which ones jumped on the Clooney bandwagon to say they heard the same thing and which ones did not.

I mean, does anyone really think Gunn would replace the already back Keaton with Clooney? Clooney was one of the least popular Batman actors to ever play the part. Now Bale I could understand. However, you just know there’s no way Bale is back without Nolan and also going to appear in TV series etc. For a start he would be simply too expensive.

Ergo, I’m glad Gunn is going to hire a brand new actor to play the role. Hopefully across TV, Film and games potentially that can grow into this Universe. What about you?

What do you think as James Gunn confirms that the DCU Batman will be played by a new actor? Thoughts below as always.
