The terrors of exorcisms may be a horrific event for many priests and witnesses. With a failed exorcism, a priest may have to face that error for the rest of his life as demonstrated in The Exorcism of God.
The horror film looks at the events and haunts after a failed exorcism. Did the demon follow the exorcist? Or has the priest must face his own demons?
Here is the official synopsis of The Exorcism of God:
Peter Williams, an American priest working in Mexico, is considered a saint by many local parishioners. However, due to a botched exorcism, he carries a dark secret that’s eating him alive until he gets an opportunity to face his own demon one final time.
The film stars Joseph Marcell (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Maria Gabriela de Faria (The Moodys, Deadly Class), Will Beinbrink (It Chapter Two, Dark), Hector Kotsifakis (Malverde: El Santo Patrón), and Irán Castillo (SOS Me estoy enamorando). Alejandro Hildago (The House at the End of Time) directed the movie from a script written by Santiago Fernández Calvete (Sangre Vurdalak) and Hildago.

Ever since The Exorcist, many filmmakers want to capture the iconic scares with their own spins. The formula that works time after time, it’s the exorcist himself that must face his own demons rather than exorcism event. It seems like a tired same old formula, but it works. We get those jump scares from the exorcism and we also relate to that internal struggle with the exorcist and others.
So can’t wait to check out the spin and uniqueness of The Exorcism of God.
The film is set for a March 11 release date from Saban Films.
