Nowadays, a lot of films don’t necessarily go out of their way to name their heroes. Sure, iconic ones like Batman, Captain America, and Iron Man are mostly known by their names, but some of them don’t actually acquire a name initially. Just look at Wonder Woman. I can’t remember an instance of her actually being named as such in the film.

Additionally, in this universe, some heroes are just getting started, so they have yet to “earn” their name. One such hero is Ezra Miller’s The Flash. Sure, we may have seen him thwart a convenience store robbery — heck, we’ve seen him thwart Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad — but he still doesn’t go by a name yet, according to Miller:
“Barry is just Barry at this point. There’s even a scene that was cut from the movie where he’s going on and on about who he should be and what he should call himself. So yeah, he doesn’t have a superhero name yet.”
Will Justice League bring about Flash actually getting a name? We certainly hope so. Those fans who are annoyed with the fact that three of our heroes have yet to have any meaningful screentime are still likely annoyed that these guys are already on screen together, so Flash not even having a name yet may get under their skin.
All the same, we’re sure this’ll make for some good laughs in the film, and we can’t wait to see more of Miller’s take on the Scarlet Speedster.
