The Grudge: John Cho and Director Nicolas Pesce Exclusive Interview

Japanese horror films can still give one quite a scare.

It’s been fifteen years since the American version The Grudge was launched in theaters, based on Japan’s Jo-On: The Grudge and launched a pair of sequels.

In the 2020’s The Grudge, it is a reboot of the original story to scare up a new generation of theatergoers who are unfamiliar with all those previous versions.

The film stars Andrea Riseborough, Demian Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye, and Jacki Weaver. It is directed and written by Nicolas Pesce.

The Grudge follows a series of horrifying and mysterious deaths, as a vengeful supernatural spirit possesses and claims their souls. A woman must find a way to break this supernatural spell or become the next victim of an ancient evil that never dies.

LRM Online sat down exclusively with actor John Cho and director/writer Nicolas Pesce in regards to The Grudge.

The Grudge is playing nationwide in theaters tonight.
