The How I Met Your Father Trailer Is Out And It Feels Weird

So the trailer for How I Met Your Father is out and I’m not quite sure what to think of it. The spinoff of How I Met Your Mother will be on Hulu on January 18. I’ll give it the three-episode chance, but based on the trailer, this series feels weird.

The Synopsis For How I Met Your Father

In the near future, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2022 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

How I Met Your Father trailer out now

The trailer has that over the top, goofy sitcom feel to it. It reminds me of the episode from Scrubs where JD imagines being in a sitcom with fictional Cheers writer, Charles James, filled with overacting and forced jokes. I hope that it’s just the trailer that feels cheesy. I also hope Sophie won’t be like Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother. He was a character who claimed to want to be married so badly, but he did some really crappy things to women. Your mouth says one thing, but your actions say another, Ted. He was the watered down version of his friend, Barney. I loved HIMYM, but I really didn’t like Ted. Also, HIMYM had somewhat relatable characters and HIMYF just doesn’t. I wrote an article on the characters back in August and they are just odd.

What did you think of the How I Met Your Father trailer? Do you find the characters relatable?
