After a massive opening weekend, Incredibles 2 continues its record-breaking run as days go on. After winning the biggest weekend opening for an animated and PG-rated film, scoring over $180 million domestically, the blockbuster Disney/Pixar film went on to break a record for the first day of the work week.
On Monday alone, Incredibles 2 brought in an estimated $23.9 million in the domestic box office. That figure gives them the throne regarding best Monday for an animated film, unseating previous Monday record-holder, Dreamworks’ Shrek 2, which ruled with $23.4 million since May 31st, 2004.
Regarding best Mondays in June, this places them just behind Jurassic World ($25.3 million) and knocking Finding Dory ($19.6 million) down to the third spot. When it comes to All-Time Monday box office, that title still belongs to Marvel’s Black Panther, claiming that spot with $40.1 million domestically.

After 14 years, Incredibles 2 reunites writer/director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) with his cast from the first film. Cast originals Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell and Samuel L. Jackson are joined by Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Sophia Bush (Chicago PD), Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad) and the legendary actress Isabella Rossellini. Bird once again voices Edna Mode and, as with every Pixar film, John “Cliff Clavin” Ratzenberger is in the cast.
Including Monday, this puts the domestic box office total for Incredibles 2 at just over $206 million. Incredibles 2 will face some strong competition when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens this Friday.
