The King’s Man serves as a fitting conclusion to the Kingman series. However, I will always be partial to Eggsy and Galahad from the first couple of films.
In this prequel installment, director Matthew Vaughn keeps the pace with the same action directing style of explosions and slow-motion fight sequences.
The trailer seems to set up a pre-World War I scenario, as the world’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds intend to wipe out millions by plotting a war. A new secret independent society was created to battle to stop them.
The cast includes Gemma Arterton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Matthew Goode, Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Bruhl, Djimon Hounsou, Charles Dance, Tom Hollander, and Rhys Ifans.
For now, the trailer seems to highlight Rasputin (Ifans) as the villain for the film. Rasputin has always been portrayed as a bad guy in nearly every modern cultural movie to date.

Vaughn wrote the screenplay with Karl Gajdusek. It is based on the comic book “The Secret Service” by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.
With fingers crossed, The King’s Man releases into theaters on September 18. With an expectation of a second wave of COVID-19 in the fall, there’s a slight chance the film can be moved to a later date. Initially, the film was slated earlier this year in February.
