The Lego Movie was without a doubt a runaway success story, I remember being quite surprised how much I enjoyed it when I took my then younger Son to see it. Yet, normally I have deeply entrenched hatred of Lego movies and animation. Don’t ask why, it’s irrational, I was one of those weird non Lego playing kids.

It was only a matter of time before we got The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The movie won’t be released by Warner Bros until February 8, 2019, so we still have a bit of a wait. This time directing duties are undertaken by Mike Mitchell (Trolls). Former directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller wrote the initial draft of the sequel from a story by Jared Stern, Michelle Morgan, and the directing duo themselves. The latest re-write of the script was penned by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Lord and Miller will, however, serve as producers alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee who produced The Lego Movie.
Now we have a new poster which brings all the original stars back together in its own Lego way:
We also learned from the outlet that the first trailer for The Lego Movie 2 is due hit the web tomorrow, so stay tuned to LRM for more details.
