The Mandalorian and Grogu gets a new poster to check out, plus Jeremy Allen White on how he got the role of Rotta the Hutt. First, check out the new poster, sued as the header above. It’s fairly straightforward and kinda does what it says on the tin. This is a Star Wars movie and it stars Mando and Grogu from the TV series you like, come watch it.
That being said, as Star Wars posters go, this is one of the posters of all time for sure. Yes, one of them it is. Can’t see many kids having this one on their wall growing up, but maybe I’m out of touch.
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theatres on May 22, 2026.
One key point we know of the plot, is that Mando and Grogu need to rescue/work with Rotta the Hutt. The now adult son of Jabba. Yep, that annoying Stinky guy from The Clone Wars. Though this time around his voice is being portrayed by The Bear star Jeremy Allen White. White spoke with Variety recently and detailed how he got the role in the first place.

“I’ve been a fan of Jon Favreau’s for a very long time. “Swingers” and “Made” had a tremendous effect on me as a young man, a young actor. We met at a party. I told him that, and he was like, “I have something I want to talk to you about. Can I call you?” It was the next day and he was talking about “Mandalorian,” and I said, “It’s a great show. You do a great job. I’d known Pedro Pascal for a little bit, and he’s great and has fun on it and he loves you.””
“He was like, “I want you to be in it.” Fantastic, of course. And then he started explaining it and started talking about Rotta. I’d never done voice work. There isn’t any stop-motion work or anything physical like that. I was excited about doing a job that is in this world of “Star Wars,” a world that I have admired for a very long time. I was also excited about doing the movie that my daughters [Ezer, 7, and Dolores, 4, whom he shares with his ex-wife Addison Timlin] can go and see.”
On whether he used his own voice?
“I did a bit of a voice, but then I think Jon also ended up tweaking it a little bit. It was maybe a year ago. I did a couple sessions. I’ve not seen any of it.”
Well, as they say, and just like that you’re playing Jabba the Hutt’s kid. Let’s see if this one proves to be a good career move for the actor or not?
What do you think of Jeremy Allen Whites comments on getting the Rotta role? What do you think of that new poster for The Mandalorian and Grogu? Thoughts below.
