We have The Mandalorian and Grogu runtime, plus a BTS promo for the film and some worrying signs regarding box office projections. The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the first Star Wars film to release in theatres since The Rise of Skywalker and it opens on May 22nd. So just over a month from now and that means we are also starting to get box office projections.
Before we get to that, we also have a runtime for the film courtesy of AMC, who have it listed as 2 hours and 12 minutes. That would place the film in the wheelhouse of Return of the Jedi which was just a couple minutes longer. Give 3-4 minutes for credits and you have just over 2 hours of actual movie.
We also have a new BTS promo video for the film. Check out what director Jon Favreau, star Pedro Pascal and legend Sigourney Weaver have to say in a short promo about Star Wars creatures.

Last but not least, we have some early box office projections courtesy of Box Office Theory. The outlet claims that the Star Wars movie is tracking to make around $70-$85 million domestically in it’s opening weekend. Unless interest picks up considerably it would be Star Wars lowest opening outside of Solo. However, trends are shifting. Word of mouth, usually online is becoming a far more powerful tool. Project Hail Mary only made around the same in its opening weekend. However, positive word of mouth drove up box office in the following weeks and made it a hit. It was a damn good film, I watched it myself recently.
I guess we will see come May 22nd. A marketing push could see numbers go up before we get there. I’m not convinced it will, but that’s just me.
