We are in the final stretch until the release for the second season of The Mandalorian. With so much anticipation for this season Lucasfilm and Disney has done everything they can to keep the shows secrets under wraps. Thanks to a Disney+ update over in Asia we now know how long the first episode of season two will be. Thanks to reddit user HouoinKyouma007 they were able to take a screen shot of the first episode preview. If you look at the image below you will see the name and time under the image of Din Djarin in a Catina.
There are two things to notice from this image. The first is the length of the episode which is listed as 52 minutes. If this image is correct then this would be the longest episode of The Mandalorian yet. The longest episode from the first season was the season finale, Chapter 8, coming in at 48 minutes. If this is an indication of the rest of the season then the rumors from earlier this year of the episodes reaching an hour are true.

The other interesting piece of information from this image is the number of the first episode. It is labeled as Chapter 9 which indicates that this is a continuation of the story from the first season. Now for some that doesn’t come as a real surprise regarding The Mandalorian but with everything we heard is that this season is building toward a shared universe of different Star Wars shows. By labeling the episode Chapter 9 it gives some validity that the future seasons will continue a story from the previous which generally means more tie-ins.
