The Mandalorian Season 4 Could Be Delayed Due To WGA Strike

According to a new rumor, and our own sources here at LRM, the rumored Mando Season 4 movie is not the current plan at Lucasfilm.

According to a new report from Deadline, The Mandalorian Season 4 production could be delayed due to the ongoing WGA strike. Mando S4 hasn’t quite been officially slated. However, creator Jon Favreau had already written scripts for Season 4 whilst he was promoting Season 3. Then again, you just also know because the show is a hit and this MandoVerse is not finished yet.

Here are the details from the trade.

According to sources, the flagship Disney+ series will likely push the start of production for Season 4. While not officially announced, a fourth season has been fully expected; series creator Jon Favreau confirmed earlier this year that the scripts for the new installment had all been completed.

I hear filming on Season 4 of The Mandalorian has been slated to begin in September. While there is some breathing room, I hear filming will likely be delayed. A rep for Lucasfilm had no comment.

September makes sense and who can say how this strike will go?

I may be naive, probabbly I am. However, I do sometimes roll my eyes at how long strikes need to go on for before the suits pony up. It’s become like a dance. At the end of the dance, the people striking are getting a deal they can accept, or they’re not going back. Yet, it always drags on for ages before that agreement is met. Studio execs, just get your finger out and pay the writers already. Without them, you have no product.

Yeah, it’s probably an extremely ignorant view of the process, so just call this a general grumble. As a writer I do support this strike and we need to make sure we attract the next generation of talent. Frankly this generation, those that have made it, have not been good enough on the (whole), but perhaps that’s just me getting old?

As for any news on where Mando Season 4 could go, or who may be back? We got nothing yet and that kind of detail likely won’t start to trickle out till the close of the conventions season. Probably when Carl Weathers announces he’s back at a convention, unless Giancarlo Esposito beats him to it.

So, according to a new report, The Mandalorian Season 4 production could be delayed due to the ongoing WGA strike. That could mean a delay in the show getting on screens ultimately also. What do you think of the news? As always, leave it below.
