There are so many mysteries surrounding the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. But one of the most intriguing mysteries has to be the importance of that “Egg Canister”. It all started when a couple leaked images of the Funko Pop Season 2 Mandalorians were shared by Funko POP News. The image that got everyones attention was the one with The Child with Egg Canister. It sparked a lot of inquires to because the canister must have some importance because it is included in with The Child.

The next time fans would get a glimpse of the canister is during the first official trailer for season two. It appears that Mando in on Mon Calamari and right in front of him is a creature wearing an egg canister. At first look it seemed like the canister in the trailer was just a coincidence but had nothing to do with Mando. If you go back and watch the trailer immediately after this scene there is the first glimpse of Sasha Banks who we presume is playing Sabin Wren. All the attention of this trailer went to Sasha but now after the newest television promo we may have to look closer to all of this.

In the latest promotional tv spot we get a quick glimpse of the canister except this time Mando is holding onto it and it seems he is protecting it from something off screen. We also get a front view of what appears to be the same character that was from the first trailer, walking in front of Mando on Mon Calamari. This scene is on the ice planet from the trailer, which we think is Ilum, and Mando is confronted by what I think are Krykna. The spider like creatures that are highly sensitive to negative emotions. The Kykna breed by laying eggs so I believe that Mando is sent on a mission to retrieve a batch of Krykna eggs.
Why or who would want a canister of eggs still remains a mystery. The egg canister seems to be of some importance though in this upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Let’s just hope these eggs don’t have the same fate as the poor Mudhorn egg from season one. For those of you who forgot here is a quick reminder of what Jawas like to do with eggs.
