While watching The Mandalorian as an adult, it’s hard not to ask yourself one question: just how much of what we see of the titular Mandalorian is actually credited star Pedro Pascal? The little kid inside of me wishes it’s at least 75% or so of the time, but the realist knew from the get-go that he likely didn’t wear it any more often than he needed to — which is a shame since a lot of a character is in the mannerisms and body language.
But how often did he actually wear it? Well, in a recent interview with Vulture, Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed an episode of the Disney+ series, revealed that she never actually even worked with Pascal in her time on the show.
“He was in rehearsals for King Lear on Broadway,” Howard revealed “And so, while we were doing my episode, I wasn’t working with Pedro.”

Two men credited as the body doubles during production are Brandan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, the former of whom Howard mostly worked with.
“He absolutely just brought everything to that character, and we were able to find the moments and figure them out together.”
Of course, this is nothing new for Star Wars. It’s not as though James Earl Jones donned the Vader costume over the course of the three films, and that never stopped audiences from falling in love with his captivating performance.
