The Official Dune Trailer Is Long, Epic, And Slightly Overwhelming — Plus Full Q&A With The Cast (VIDEO)

The Dune trailer is here and the cast speaks up.

If you’ve been waiting for the next big epic sci-fi film to hit theaters, you don’t have much longer to wait. Denis Villeneuve’s grand opus that is Dune will be hitting theaters later this year. Given his work on such films as Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, there is a lot of anticipation going into this one. Not only is he a great filmmaker, but it’s based on one of the seminal sci-fi epics out there, which was written by Frank Herbert decades ago.

Dune has already seen multiple adaptations to mixed effect. However, with technology being as it is, it’s a property that is ripe for a modern reinterpretation. And as you can expect, with Villeneuve, there is a certain amount of tangibility that fans expect with this movie. Now, thanks to the brand-new trailer, we know we are getting exactly that.

Fans have been waiting for months for this Dune trailer. In fact, I feel like this trailer, more than any other, has been rumored for a long while, seemingly getting pushed back weeks at a time. So, if you were worried about there not being enough content, fret not. This new trailer is BIG.

It clocks in at over three minutes, and in it, we see the epic scale of what’s to come. It has a large cast, a large scope, and ambitious concepts that mirror the source material. And we can’t forget that killer ending, where we see the iconic sandworm. The film literally brought concept art to life.

There is a whole lot to take in, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly overwhelmed. But man am I up for the task.

That wasn’t all Dune had to offer. Prior to the release of the trailer, Stephen Colbert interviewed the impressive cast and filmmaker. It clocks in at over 17 minutes long and is pretty great in terms of general info.
