Well, this will certainly be a year to at least check in on the Oscars. Not too long ago, they were looking to head into their 2019 show with comedian Kevin Hart at the helm as host. However, in light of old comments made on social media, and Hart’s refusal to apologize, he was essentially forced out soon after, leaving the ceremony without a host.
But, of course, there was still some time, right? Apparently, the Oscars isn’t really a coveted gig due to its high pressure, relatively low pay, and the inevitability that everyone will continue to complain about how boring it is. While on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning, Hart was asked if he would change his mind, and he responded with a simple statement:
“There is no ending to it. If you keep feeding this energy, then it’s going to grow. You’re not getting no more of my energy from it. I’m not giving no more, because it’s endless. I want everybody to know I’m done with it. It’s a choice that I’ve personally made to say I’m not addressing it anymore.”
Then when asked about how he feels, he said, “I’m over it.”

Fair enough. I’d probably be over too if I were him. But they could still lock down SOMEONE, right? Well, according to Variety‘s sources, the Academy is looking to go ahead and have their 2019 ceremony without a host for the first time in 2019. But don’t fret. It doesn’t look like the show will be mass chaos (at least we hope not).
Rather than have someone play the emcee role throughout, they will be hiring some A-lister to introduce segments. At this point, they are reportedly scrambling to lock down those A-listers. Given all the negative publicity surrounding this, though, I can’t help but wonder if this will be difficult for them to do.
Do you think they’ll be able to pull it off? Let us know down below!
