The Predator: New Extended TV Spot Brings The Action

Shane Black’s reboot of the Predator franchise is almost upon us. After fans started to come around with the latest red band trailer, this extended TV spot helps to build the anticipation. The first trailer left me feeling a little cold, but these last couple of trailers have got me a little hyped again.

The Predator is released on the hunt September 14, yes that’s next week folks and here is the official synopsis.

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

Whilst there is a good ensemble of actors in this movie, it seems like Boyd Holbrook (Logan) will be taking the lead. Looking it this though, I still kinda wish Arnold had agreed to reprise his role as an older Dutch, which he was asked to do. From Schwarzenegger’s point of view, the role just wasn’t big enough for him to come back. I guess I just wish Black and Arnold had worked something out, seeing him here would be the cherry on the cake for me.

The Predator looks like it will be a fun ride, and more I see, the more I like. I may not get the chance to see this opening week, but I am looking forward to checking it out soon.
