The Rings Of Power Gets Two New Actors And More In Latest Barside Buzz

According to the latest Barside Buzz around the show, Rings of Power Season 2 has a big battle that stretches across episodes.

According to the latest Barside Buzz, The Rings of Power gets two new actors plus more character names for Season 2. The information comes from the very reliable Fellowship of Fans. The leak site was the best source of information during Season 1 production and it seems unlikely that will change in Season 2.

First of all let’s look at the two actors they name as having joined Season 2.

The outlet says Nicholas Woodeson has been cast as a Human character called Diarmid. It is worth noting this could be simply a codename as that was a common practice during Season 1 also. The outlet says Diarmid is a man from Pelargir but there is no more details shared.

Cameron Anderson is another actor who’m they claim is in Season 2. Though, no information on which character he may be playing?

Lastly the outlet says a new Elvan female character called Mirdania is in Season 2. Though at this time they are not sure which of three actors has that role.

‘In season 2 we will meet a new elven character called Mirdania a female protagonist”. This would be the second on screen female elf we have seen after Galadriel in The Rings Of Power and is of course an original character. Some speculation on this role has been linked towards the ‘Gwaith-I-Mirdain’ the forging guild and craftsmen of Eregion due to the name having ‘Mirdan’ in it. In regards to the actor to play this role, it is limited to the 3 released female actors, Nia Towle, Selina Lo and Amelia Kenworthy.’

Season 2 of The Rings of Power will be intriguing. Yet, I can’t help but be worried about it given how Season 1 panned out. It was all a bit too ‘fan-fictiony’ for me. Specifically, I mean meddling with the established lore for he forging of the Three Rings and how Sauron became involved. Alongside the Stranger seeming to be Gandalf and the crazy Mithril origin story.

It remains to be seen whether Season 2 will be able to get things back on track. The visuals, and acting in the show were great. It was just the writing itself I had some issues with, sadly.

Expect a whole host of new characters never even imagined by Tolkien, because this period of his work named few characters from the mythology. Most of those we have met already in Season 1.

What do you think as The Rings of Power gets two new actors plus more character names for Season 2? Thoughts below as always.
