The role of Sentry in Thunderbolts has been offered to Lewis Pullman. The initial rumor came from Daniel RPK however this was quickly made a lot more legitimate by a THR report. For now there is no indication that Pullman has accepted the offer, so we’ll have to wait and see. Given this is by far the biggest opportunity Pullman has had outside of Maverick you’d think he’ll accept. However, the last person offered the role did not, so who can tell?
Thunderbolts is set to begin filming this March. Therefore, getting someone cast as Sentry after Steven Yeun pulled out is a top priority.
As per the trade;
‘Lewis Pullman may be getting a jolt, courtesy of Marvel Studios. The Top Gun: Maverick actor is Marvel’s top choice to star in Thunderbolts, and has an offer for the role vacated by Steven Yeun earlier this month.’

Pullman is the son of popular and veteran actor Bill Pullman. Until Maverick the younger Pullman hadn’t been in any tentpole movies. However he could now be set to take the success of Maverick and step into the MCU.
It is unknown if the role of Sentry will continue beyond the Thunderbolts movie. After all, Sentry is a tad OP compared to most Marvel heroes. If we go by the comic book version (not guaranteed to be the same) then Sentry probably beats Thanos and Captain Marvel at the same time. I’ve seen Maverick exactly once and it wasn’t my kind of movie. Therefore I don'[t feel well placed to comment on Pullman’s suitability for the role.
