The Sandman Season 2 - Neil Gaiman Already Searching For Actors For Dream's Other Siblings

There may not be The Sandman Season 2 officially. However creator Neil Gaiman is already searching for actors for Dream’s as yet unseen siblings. So far in The Sandman we have met Death, Desire, and Despair from Dream’s family. However there are two more we have not met yet and that’s Destiny and Destruction, the latter otherwise known as The Prodigal.

Neither sibling plays a major part in the overall story of Sandman. However both do make an appearance in the comics and as such it sounds like Gaiman is actively searching for the right actors to play the roles. Speaking with Variety about all things Sandman. Gaiman was asked whether he had already cast, or been in talks with anyone to play the aforementioned roles, despite no official greenlight on Season 2?

“Right now, what we’re doing is every time I think of or run into or pass or notice an actor who could be either a Destruction or a Delirium, Allan [Heinberg] gets an email.”

If anyone at Netflix is reading, I’ll say this. You’ve spent a ton of money and forgettable trash recently. The Sandman is not that, press the button and greenlight this for another go. Sandman is definitely one of the most entertaining and well made shows I’ve seen this year, and that comes from someone who never read the comics.

The best praise I can give the show is that I never felt like I was watching humans when the focus is instead on the Endless. There’s just something non-human about all of the performances of the non-humans. Save Death anyway, she, I assume by design and purpose, comes across as the most human of the siblings we’ve met so far.
