Harry Potter fans are excited about Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them for a couple of reasons. For starters, it will once again allow them to explore the mystical world that J.K. Rowling created for the Potter books. But there’s also the fact that Rowling, herself, wrote the script and that David Yates- who directed four of the Potter films- is back in the director’s chair.
So far, we know that Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) is set to play Newt Scamander, the “magiczoologist,” as he goes onadventures to learn about mystical creatures. Now The Wrap is claiming they know which actresses are vying for the film’s female roles.
For the role of Tina, they’re looking at…
Lili Simmons
Saoirse Ronan
Alison Sudol
and Dakota Fanning.
For her Tina’s older sister, Queenie, the studio is said to be looking at…
Elizabeth Debicki
Katherine Waterston
and Kate Upton.
Fantastic Beasts is a spinoff that is set seven decades before the events that occurred in the Harry Potter films/books. Warner Bros is hoping that this first film will be the start of a trilogy of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them films, since the Potter films were a stunning success for the studio.
(And just a little personal aside: *SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT* My band and I just released our debut album, which is available on iTunes, Amazon, etc. A while back, we made a tribute video featuring Upton. So if you’re a fan of hers, and/or new music. Or just feel like seeing me make a fool of myself, watch the video at the very bottom of this article!)
