The Strangers: Chapter 1 Has a Theatrical Release Date in May

Knock. Knock.

The anticipated horror trilogy The Strangers: Chapter 1 is set to release in May. It is the first of three standalone films in a trilogy that is part of The Strangers universe and coincides with the events from the previous films.

This ambitious project has all three chapters released in 2024 rather than waiting for following sequels with other franchises.

The film stars Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale, F*&% the Prom) and Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf, Hocus Pocus 2).

Here is the official synopsis:

From master director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2) comes a trilogy of terror. In The Strangers: Chapter 1, Madelaine Petsch stars as a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé. Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack with warning or reason. What begins as a fight to stay alive becomes one woman’s journey of courage and cunning in this horror series, bridging three compelling films.

The story is written by Alan R. Cohen, Alan Freedland, and Amber Loutfi.

Although the previous The Strangers had mixed theatrical box office results, the franchise has a powerful cult following as one of the best slasher films. The concept is terrifying since it is based on incidents involving home invasions.

Ever since its initial announcement at New York City Comic-Con, the horror community has eagerly awaited more news on the trilogy since it will all be released next year.

The lead actress Madelaine Petch announced on her Instagram that The Strangers: Chapter 1 will be in theaters on May 17 next year.
