The Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt and Edwin Hodge

The Tomorrow War had a very successful global streaming debut over the past weekend.  The response of this caliber usually fuels rumors of potential sequels. According to a Deadline report, Amazon Studios is already in talks with Skydance to work on The Tomorrow War 2.

The report from Anthony D’Alessandro claims that Amazon wants to bring the entire crew back from the first film including Chris McKay, screenwriter Zach Dean; and stars Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, and J.K. Simmons. Also, Anthony states that Paramount (the company to distribute the first film theatrically) will be involved in the project.

The Tomorrow War launched this past weekend around the world exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and debuted atop across streaming platforms over the weekend. Although streaming numbers still have a little mystery about exact numbers, most reporting services are claiming that the film ranks as the biggest live-action streaming movie of the summer. Reviews from Amazon Prime users have been very positive claiming the film to be very entertaining.

Over the past two years, Amazon has committed itself to become a competitive film studio by picking up The Tomorrow War for $200 million from Skydance along with other films like Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse and Coming 2 America.

If The Tomorrow War 2 does get green-lit this would be an original IP that Chris Pratt would be in the lead role.  Pratt has amassed superstar success behind the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises to now become a global star.
