Looking back, I think that Amazon Prime’s The Tomorrow War may be the most serious role that I have ever seen Chris Pratt in. We have seen some first-look images as well as some moving character posters. Now today we are happy to share with you the newly released trailer for the film. As you can see in the trailer above for The Tomorrow War, the world and its future are in trouble. Also, it would seem that my assessment of Pratt being “serious” should be taken with a grain of salt. What I appreciated the most about it was the decision to mostly keep the aliens (or whatever they are) hidden from us. Hopefully, that is a trend that continues throughout the marketing for the film. Despite that, it gives us a spoon full of what we can expect action-wise.

Here is the synopsis for Amazon Prime’s The Tomorrow War

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight.

 Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

This film is directed by Emmy winner Chris McKay and written by Zach Dean. Executive Producers are Rob Cowan, Chris Pratt, Brian Oliver, and Bradley J. Fischer. Produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jules Daly, David Goyer, and Adam Kolbrenner. Joining Pratt as stars of The Tomorrow War are Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Keith Powers.

This film was originally slated to be released in theaters. But due to 2020 and the pandemic, it was delayed. Then Amazon acquired the distribution rights to the film from Paramount Pictures. With this film being released on the streaming service, it gives everyone a chance to check it out without breaking the bank in theaters.
