AMC’s The Walking Dead makes its return for a ninth season on October 7. A new promo for the upcoming season has been released, showing fan favorite Rick Grimes and what appears to be a new weapon. It appears as if Rick has taken a page out a Negan’s book an made himself a battering club in the style of the barb-wired baseball bat, Lucille. The wooden weapon has several spikes carved into it and, well, I certainly wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end. I wonder if Rick will give his new wooden mace a cool name?

As most of you already know, the upcoming season will see a jump in time. From the trailers, it appears most resources are scarce, including fuel for vehicles as we see most folks have turned to riding horses. Though Rick has been the leader of the group for most of the show’s run, this is his last season (as well as being the last season for Lauren Cohan’s Maggie) and what appears to be an apocalyptic mutiny seems to be headed for Rick, old friends Maggie and Darryl don’t seem to be too happy with old Rick’s actions last season.
