The Wheel Of Time Showrunner Waiting To Find Out About Season 4

So The Wheel of Time Season 3 has wrapped filming, or has it? Plus we have some Season 3 casting news to share as well.

The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins is waiting to find out about Season 4 of the show. Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is streaming now, and to much more critical acclaim than Season 1. Season 3 was greenlit back when Season 1 was airing and is now in production. However as yet, there is no decision form Amazon on Season 4.

Judkins has said previously if they get to finish this story the aim would be to have 8 Seasons. However, in a recent Q&A, now possible due to the WGA agreement, Judkins seemed hopeful rather than confident of Season 4. One of the issues Season 2 has faced has been a lack of promotion from the actors.

You can find the link to the full Q&A thread here on Twitter. It’s not . got any book spoilers folks, so don’t be too scared. However here are two comments Judkins made specifically about Season 4.

Clearly he means Jeff Bezos owner of Amazon.

My worry is the line, ‘incredibly damaging to viewership numbers’. Does that mean Judkins has visibility that so far Season 2 is not being watched as much as Season 1 which was considered a hit? I hope that’s not the case because Season 2 has been excellent. Most book fans I converse with all seems to be happy with Season 2. Yet, there are also those who watched Season 1 and decided it wasn’t for them. Some of them may not have returned for Season 2. As for casual audiences, who knows?

I know how much press actors do for a project has zero impact on whether I want to watch it. However, the numbers must tell studios that for some people this really does have an impact. Season 1 had an awful ending partly due to the COVID bomb that hit planet Earth. Now Season 2 can’t be promoted by the cast. The Dark One must be against this show revealing his true nature to the world at large. Only explanation.

We know Season 3 will follow book 4 more closely. If you think Season 2 has taken the story in unexpected directions, then wait till you see Season 3.

So, The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins is waiting to find out about Season 4 of the show. Are you worried the show could get cancelled, or are you hoping it does, for some reason I can’t fathom? Either way, leave any thoughts below.

Oh and check out The Dragon Reviewed with Kyle/Christine Malone and myself. This is last week’s episode review and we should be back this Friday or Saturday with Episode 7. Kyle and Christine have never read the books, I have and there’s full show spoilers but no book spoilers. Check it out if you get the chance.
