In the HBO’s documentary The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling, Apatow pays tribute to his friend and mentor with this four-and-a-half hour long film that reveals conversations with Shandling’s friends and Family.
There are plenty of interviews including James L. Brooks, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jon Favreau, Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, Conan O’Brien, Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman.
The documentary also include decades of TV appearances, along with personal journals, private letters and candid home audio and video footage that depicts him in a fascinating, funny, sad and authentic way.
