The Zombie Wedding Wraps Principal Photography and Cast Announcement

The Zombie Wedding

The tabloid newspaper Weekly World News has entered into the film entertainment business with its recent announcement of wrapping the principal photography on its first feature film, The Zombie Wedding.

Under its Weekly World News Studios banner, the startup studio wrapped its production in Vineland, New Jersey, and unveiled its cast.

The all-star cast included Cheri Oteri (Saturday Night Live), Krystine Alabado (American Psycho), Mu-Shaka Benson (The Blacklist), Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family), Donald Chang (Squid Game), Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse), Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead), Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), Deepti Menon (Never Rarely Sometimes Always), Christine Spang (Succession), Ajay Naidu (Office Space), and Micky Dolenz (The Monkees).

Micah Khan (Safe House) directed the movie from the screenplay written by Greg D’Alessandro.

Here is the official synopsis:

The Zombie Wedding follows the story of a young couple in Vineland, N.J., during the zombie apocalypse, who decide to go ahead with their wedding, even though it seems like an impossibility to pull it off. The humans turn out to be more difficult than the zombies, and the ceremony takes a turn for the weird when the Zombies become brain deprived. In the end, the wedding delivers a universal message of acceptance, love, and understanding.

“As a huge fan of zombies, aliens, Bigfoots, and cryptids, I’m ecstatic to direct The Zombie Wedding and bring the Weekly World Newsuniverse’s first film to audiences,” said director Micah Khan in a statement. “Greg’s script immerses you in a wacky, absurdist wedding gone wrong. Our amazing cast is sure to create anxiety about zombie apocalypses breaking out during your special day.”

Weekly World News Studios aims to tap into its tabloid stories and turn them into feature films. It is also noted that two more zombie films are scheduled from this studio by the end of 2024, and an alien abduction movie is currently under development.

No set release date was announced for The Zombie Wedding at this time.
