Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and over the past couple of weeks, there has been some real smoke surrounding Nintendo. I mean, it tends to happen every few months, but there was some real buzz surrounding an early September Nintendo Direct, where the Big N would supposedly be unveiling new releases and showing of details for its late-2019 slate of video games.
Now, Nintendo’s official Twitter account has gone and revealed that tomorrow at 3PM PT, that we will have “roughly 40 minutes of information focused on 2019 Nintendo Switch games.” Check out the tweet below:

In addition to revealing the Direct, they highlighted Pokemon Sword and Shield as well as Luigi’s Mansion 3 as the two games that would be included. Given that these are guaranteed to be the two tentpoles the rest of the slate will rest on, that is no surprise, but we expect some other juicy details as well.
The hope is some time will be spent on revealing another Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, and that one other massive tentpole game will be announced for a December release. All this comes amid speculation, though the ones responsible for the leaks have proven reliable in the past.
Also of note, this will be the first Direct where former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime will not be involved.
