Thompson On Valkyrie’s Powers In Thor: Love and Thunder

In a recent interview with W Magazine there’s mention from Tessa Thompson on Valkyrie’s powers in Thor: Love and Thunder. So far we have not seen much of Valkyrie’s powers other than the usual Asgardian abilities. However in the comics the Valkyrie had their own abilities and it looks like Love and Thunder will start to explore some of that.

“She has weird skills, to be honest, she can sense when someone is close to death, and she takes them into Valhalla, which is essentially the afterlife. She can revive people. But when she revives people, sometimes she ends up in their body. It’s a weird thing. It can be quite erotic. And then she has superhuman strength and is essentially a God.”

Again, as said above this does match with the powers the Valkyrie have in the comics and it’s cool to see Valk’s powers explored. It’s always tricky with Asgardians, some of them seem just normal…. superhuman and immortal. Others will have special abilities like the Royal family and Heimdal, and now I guess Valkyrie. Rumor is that Valk will play a lead role in Thor: Love and Thunder alongside Portman and Hemsworth.

The shoot for Love and Thunder was completed some time ago and the movie is currently in post. Though, once assumes as always, there will be a round of reshoots scheduled for some time soon as well. Thor: Love and Thunder is now set for release on July 22nd of this year, so there is plenty of time left to get the movie into a finished state. Once again director Taika Waititi is back at the helm after rejuvenating the Thor franchise in Ragnarok.
