THOR RAGNAROK: The Director Gives A Tease, But Is Hela Really Ragnarok?

Many hardcore Marvel fans did not like Thor: Darkworld, and while it did have it’s moments, it was definitely a subpar film. So when I heard that Thor: Ragnarok may be based on Planet Hulk, I completely flipped out. In the books, sometime around the Skrull War, Hulk was stranded on a gladiator type planet and became more of an intellectual force of nature as opposed to the typical lower intelligence Hulk (with the exception of the Grey Hulk) we have always known. I had to wonder just how they would handle the duo of Thor and Hulk in space. Would this be just another dull Thor flop?

Executive producer Brad Winderbaum thinks not.

“It’s going to have some of the wildest, craziest, most amazing action you’ve ever seen in the MCU, the Thor / Hulk relationship is one that is incredible.”

Also, if you know anything about the Ragnarok story in the comics, you may assume that Hulk will be Ragnarok, the bringer of doom to Asgard and the other realms. This was my first thought, but it does not seem to be the case, as Thor and Hulk will be stranded on this gladiatorial planet in an effort to get home to save Asgard from the real Ragnarok. Despite it has been reported that Hela will be the major evil, my guess is Thanos will be behind this in some way. There is an infinity stone (or two) on Asgard, so do not discount that.

It also appears that after the success of Deadpool, no future film in any comic universe will be without clever one-liners and mixed humor. Director Taika Waititi had this to say about where Thor: Ragnarok will take us in the humor department.

“I want to take people on an adventure that keeps people laughing along the way, but also has the spectacle.”

The synopsis reads as follows:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

“Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.”

Thor: Ragnarok drops Nov 3rd. of this year!

So we know Hela is supposedly the Ragnarok. I fully disagree. What do you guys think??
