Thor: Ragnarok – Chris Hemsworth Tells Us What The Hela Ragnarok Is In New Video

So for the past couple years, we’ve been throwing around the name Thor: Ragnarok, but let’s be real, most people don’t know what the hell Ragnarok actually means. I mean, it’s not really an English word, so unless you’re studying Norse mythology (or, you know, reading a comic), chances are your exposure to it would be rather limited.

Well, fear not, because Marvel Studios and Chris Hemsworth have your back. In a new video promo, he gives you the lowdown as to what Ragnarok is…until Cate Blanchett steps in to simplify it down to its most basic terms.

To put it in Blanchett’s own words:

“Ragnarok is beauty, hope, justice. Ragnarok is redemption, chaos, fire. It’s the end of all things. The demise of the gods, and the ascension of Death.”

All in all, it seems like a pretty thorough little description for what we’re ultimately getting in the film. More than anything, this has me anxious to see whether or not Hela will indeed have a role to play in Avengers: Infinity War. The film can’t get here soon enough.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
