The third entry in the THOR franchise is nearing its production date. According to The Advertiser, THOR: RAGNAROK will begin principle photography on July 4, 2016.
Marvel Studios executive David Maisel said the following:
“We opened the offices in Gold Coast about three months ago and we start principal photography in Gold Coast Australia on THOR: RAGNAROK on July 4 and we’ll be shooting there through to late October.”
THOR: RAGNAROK will, of course, see the return of both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, who play Thor and Loki, respectively. Also tagging along with Thor in this intergalactic space adventure is fellow Avenger Bruce Banner, better known as the Hulk. Joining the returning cast will be Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban as Skurge.
Plot details regarding the film have been sparse, but according to Joblo, it will revolve around Thor searching for a weapon that will stop the destruction of the entire universe.
THOR: RAGNAROK hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
