It won’t be long till Spider-Man: Brand New Day is with us, but star Tom Holland says they are still filming some pretty cool pick-up shots. Holland recently had an interview with GQ and gave them some details about what those extra shots are for.
As Holland tells the outlet, it’s about putting the icing on the cake at this point.
“I can positively say that the stuff we’re doing, we don’t need,” he explains. “The movie works and sings as it is. We’re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas. We’re finding some ways to add a little bit more humor. We’re layering in a villain plotline in a new way and some really fun stuff.”
We Marvel fans know this is how the studio works. There are always additional dates set aside for pick-ups as they get the cut together and decide what needs to be added, or removed.

However, it’s rare for an actor to give as much information on what is being added. I think that probably tells us a lot about how much more power Holland has in this franchise under his new contract. Holland is involved in that process and therefore knows exactly what is being added and why. Chances are, some of the additional photography might not revolve around this character. Especially if their adding some villain content.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theatres on July 31st. That’s just over two months away now, to get everything ready for the theatrical cut. Let’s face it, I’ll be there, and so will you. We’ll talk after about whether director Destin Daniel Cretton delivered. I have my fingers crossed.
Leave us any thoughts below about the Spider-Man: Brand New Day pick-up shoot.
