Disclaimer: This post contains major spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.
So how about that Avengers: Infinity War movie? It’s only the Tuesday after the film’s come out, and I suspect that some of you are already burnt out by the number of articles we’ve had covering it. But if you have seen it, chances are there are plenty of big spoilers you’ve been tossing around with your friends, including a number of high-profile deaths.
The closing minutes of the film were the most shocking for Marvel fans, as it saw roughly half of the superheroes we’ve grown to know and love disintegrating into nothingness, Voldemort-style. At a recent screening at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, Infinity War Kevin Feige, directors Anthony and Joe Russo, and actors Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch came out before the film itself.

During the quick introduction, Holland comes out and says “I’m alive!” to the unsuspecting audience. You can check out the full video below.

Of course, Holland is referencing the fact that he was the last Avenger to tragically turn to dust. His own death was the most tragic, as he had a chance to cry to Stark about not wanting to go yet. Luckily, his “I’m alive!” outburst was vague enough that the audience may not have understood what he meant by that.
While Holland is infamous for accidentally spoiling things, this is one instance where I can forgive him. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind, and I can imagine that he and various members of the cast have been flown all over the world to various screenings, and in some cases, he likely came out before, and in others, he likely came out after. This is likely just a simple case of him thinking that the audience had already seen the film.
Whoops.
