Sketch First Look Trailer at Angel Studios Presentation | CinemaCon 2025

Tony Hale and D'Arcy Carden in Sketch

Angel Studios has solidified itself as a major studio at CinemaCon 2025.

During its breakfast event to CinemaCon attendees, the studio provided a sneak preview of its film slate for the next few months.

One of the most notable films is the children’s film Sketch starring Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep).

Sketch is one of the films approved by Angel Studios members to be greenlit for release through the company-wide voting process.

The film also stars D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place, Barry), Bianca Belle (Lady in the Lake, Sweet Magnolias), Kue Lawrence (The School Duel), and Kalon Cox (Preschool in L.A.).

The film is directed and written by Seth Worley.

Here is the official synopsis:

A single dad is swept up in an insane adventure when his daughter’s comically dark drawings come to life and terrorize their small town.

“Seven years in the making, I’ve made a movie that is 100% me, and I still can’t figure out how to describe it to people,” said Worley. “Ask me the genre, and I’ll vamp for a bit, mutter something about Spielbergian horror comedy (not a genre), and then run away. Ask me who this movie is for, and I’ll probably say, “everyone.” And then run away again.”

The film features many teen horror elements in the same vein as Goosebumps. It appeals to the imagination as colorful drawings come to life and explode in destruction. No doubt it will strongly appeal to family audiences, as its trailer appears to be a lot of fun.

Angel Studios releases Sketch in theaters on Friday, August 6, 2025.
