Top Gun: Maverick | Jennifer Connelly Interview [Exclusive]

Top Gun: Maverick with Jennifer Connelly

For Top Gun sleuths, the film mentions a fling with an admiral’s daughter in the 1986 movie. With the sequel Top Gun: Maverick, the decades ago fling is with Penny Benjamin who is a single mother and owns a bar nearby the airbase and stars Jennifer Connelly.

The romance certainly is bigger and better than Kelly McGillis’s Charlie in the original Top Gun.

Tom Cruise returns to the beloved sequel as Maverick. The cast included Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, and Greg Tarzan Davis. Joseph Kosinski directed the movie from the screenplay written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
