Trailer: Like Blood, Violence, And Zombies? You’ll Love Overlord

If you’re a fan of ridiculous, bloody, over-the-top pulp-fests, then we may have the movie for you. Producer J.J. Abrams has been talking about a little film called Overlord for a while now, and for a time, it was even speculated to be a Cloverfield movie. Nowadays, we know it’s pretty damn far from that.

This movie looks like a brilliant and horrifying twist on zombie stories, and is exactly the type of movie that would have been at home alongside Planet Terror and Death Proof in Grind House. It also has some elements — at least in this trailer — that remind me of The Thing, which had elements of extreme paranoia.

Below is the official synopsis to Overlord:

“With only hours until D-Day, a team of American paratroopers (#WyattRussell, #IainDeCaestecker, #JovanAdepo, #JohnMagaro) drop into Nazi-occupied France to carry out a mission that’s crucial to the invasion’s success. Tasked with destroying a radio transmitter atop a fortified church, the desperate soldiers join forces with a young French villager to penetrate the walls and take down the tower. But, in a mysterious Nazi lab beneath the church, the outnumbered G.I.s come face-to-face with enemies unlike any the world has ever seen. From producer J.J. Abrams, Overlord is a thrilling, pulse-pounding action adventure with a twist.”

I’m not sure this’ll be a theater watch for me, but I’ll definitely be catching it after the fact. Personally, I would have preferred this gone to Netflix instead of The Cloverfield Paradox. What about you? Let us know how high on the priority list this film will be to you when it comes out? Let us know down below!

Overlord hits theaters on November 9, 2018.
