Transfusion | Matt Nable on Father-Son Dynamic Story

Matt Nable in Transfusion

Matt Nable knew he would draft a relationship story on a father-son as an army brat for Transfusion.

In this complex crime and relationship drama, Nable took the project to make it his directorial debut with Sam Worthington in the lead role. He still starred with Worthington and Phoebe Tonkin to show a father’s willingness to sacrifice everything to re-establish his relationship with his estranged son.

Here is the synopsis of the film:

To protect his son, an ex-special forces operative (Sam Worthing) plunges into the criminal underground for one final mission in the muscular, emotionally charged thriller.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with director, writer, and actor Matt Nable. We discussed the story’s genesis, Sam Worthington being perfect for the role, and acting in the project.

Matt Nable wrote and played the lead role in the film The Final Winter back in 2007, which eventually led to Paramount Pictures’ first Australian acquisition. With that success, he played the lead role in the television pilot SIS and into feature films The Killer Elite with Jason Statham and 33 Postcards with Guy Pearce. In 2013, he scored a lead role alongside Vin Diesel in Riddick. His other film credits included Son of a Gun, Hacksaw, Incarnate, and Jasper Jones. On television, he appeared in East West 101, Underbelly: Badness, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, and with a guest role as Ra’s al Ghul in Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
